This Sunday, April 25th, Matt Stanley and The Decoys will be making their Vancouver debut by playing at the 2nd Annual David Suzuki EarthRun in Vancouver, BC.  “Get out for a fantastic day and join thousands of people that want to make a difference in their community for the planet. Earth Run will help raise awareness and funds for local to national environmental initiatives.” Besides getting out there and running/walking, you can stay for the music! Other acts include “Ranj Singh and The Discriminators” and “Gillian Hobbs”. It takes place down at Jericho Beach, so see you there.

   This June we will be playing a few shows around BC. On June 19th we will be playing Doc Willoughby’s in Kelowna, June 26th at Pogue Mahone in Kamloops, and June 30th on Day 1 of the Canada Day Celebrations in Langley.

  We hope to see you over the next couple of months and stay tuned for more dates in July and August.

Matt Stanley and The Decoys rock on

Kamloops rockers Matt Stanley and The Decoys are building on the momentum of their EP Life and Times, breaking out of the city with a Lower Mainland gig and support from Jenn Ashton’s Rave On Studio. Stanley was featured last week in The Province Playlist, a newspaper feature the points readers to emerging B.C. artists through website links and free downloads. The band-including Jarrett Boyetchko, Brandon Donovan and Rob Simpson- is lined up to play David Suzuki’s EarthRun at Vancouver’s Jericho Beach April 25. “It’s a cool concert,” Stanley said. On March 30 Stanley plays an acoustic show at Pogue Mahone’s. The band had a helping hand from producer Henry Small in creating their debut recording last year. Stanley is a humble guy: “As far as promoting yourself, I’m not the greatest at it,” he admitted. The raw goods are there, though – good ol’ rock ‘n’ roll.

  Thought I’d let everyone know that on Saturday February 13^th, Matt Stanley and The Decoys will be playing at Pogue Mahone Pub in Kamloops, BC. We’ll be giving you a full night of Rock ‘n’ Roll so Invite Your Friends, come out and dance, drink, and sing all night. Start time is 8pm and there’ll be a $5 cover charge.

      Just wanted to let everyone know that MATT STANLEY AND THE DECOYS have two big shows coming up. We are playing our first show in Kelowna, BC on September 19^th at the Grateful Fed with DUO #2 and Kelowna’s GYPSY FIST.   I haven’t written very much on here so I thought I’d update everyone on what’s new. I’ve been updating the website and currently everything is up and running, besides the Store. You can check out who’s in the Decoys (more will be added later), read the lyrics to “The Life & Times EP”, check when you can see us perform next, or even check the setlists of previous shows.

 As far as upcoming shows, we have a few lined up. At the moment we plan on playing at Pogue Mahone on July 4th supporting The Intruders, along with Duo #2, Havoc Way, and Tickets To Tokyo. I’ll be doing a solo performance for the Live @ Lunch series in downtown Kamloops on July 16th. We’ll be playing The Dirty Jersey July 18th with Duo #2 and Kelowna band Gypsyfist. We’re playing the Hot Nite In The City event on August 8th, and we are working on some other shows as well, including our first show in Kelowna.
